The Port of Rio de Janeiro received today (03/10) at 3:30 pm, from the National Commission for Public Security of Ports and Waterways - CONPORTOS, represented by Mr. João Carlos Cardoso, the certificate of ISPS-CODE - International Code Security Policy in Port Installations. The code aims to establish an international structure and better security against terrorist actions and sabotage, that is, to contribute to a condition of maritime protection to world ports. This system developed by IMO - International Maritime Organization began to be mandatory in Brazilian ports as of the September 11 attack in the United States and aims to help control people, ships, cargo and passengers. Failure to implement this hinders the entire logistics chain.
