The PortoVale Intermodal Terminal allows multimodal transport of containers by rail in the 'inbound' and 'outbound' flows between the Port of Rio de Janeiro - Container Terminal at the Port of Rio de Janeiro MultiRio and the Vale do Paraíba region.
The new terminal is strategically located close to the automotive, pharmaceutical, electro-electronic and steel cluster of the region, more specifically, being 500 meters from the Industrial Complex of Itatiaia, 13 km from the Industrial Complex of Resende and 18 km of the Automotive Industrial Pole.
With a railway deviation of 1,450 meters (850 operational meters) and with a total area of 60,000 m, the Terminal has a static operational capacity of 4,700 TEUs.
The terminal has security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and with a modern monitoring system via closed circuit cameras (CCTV).
Benefits to the Environment
In addition to the advantages of regularity, safety and cost of transporting containers in the railway modal, we highlight the benefits to the environment.
The 'carbon footprint' resulting from Multimodal Transport and containers by the railway, results in a reduction of about 78% less CO2 in the atmosphere compared to road transport.
