Juiz de Fora (MG)

Inaugurated in October 1997, the Porto Seco da Zona da Mata is situated in Juiz de Fora, city that has an approximate distance of: 180 Km from Rio de Janeiro, 280 Km from Belo Horizonte, 474 Km from Vitória and 476 Km from São Paulo. The region of Juiz de Fora is accessible by road through the roads BR 040, BR 267, and BR 116.

The terminal is composed of 130.383 m2 of customs area. Out of that, 11.000 m² is dedicated to covered warehouses, 116.783 m² are used as a patio for storage of vehicles, containers or loose cargo. There is an additional area of 2.600 m² reserved for administrative installments such as: offices for the Receita Federal (Brazilian customs) and Ministério da Agricultura (Ministry of Agriculture), locker rooms, dinning halls, maintenance, support center for dispatchers and transporters, DPC (Data Processing Center) and Multi-terminal Administration.

Porto Seco has a warehouse of 10.000 m² dedicated to general cargo and 02 warehouses with climate control totaling an area of 1.000 m² those of which are destined exclusively to the storing of products that demand climate control and relative air humidity specifications, beyond that 16 plugs are in place for plugging refrigerated containers.

The cargo storage patio has a railway access of 630 meters capable of moving 32 containers per composition maneuver. For the movement of containers and general cargo the terminal has at its disposal: 03 stackers model Reach Stacker of the brand TEREX having a cargo capacity of 47 tons each, 01 37 ton capable MILAN fork stacker, 01 10 ton capable stacker, 01 7 ton capable stacker, 02 4 ton capable stacker and 6 stackers capable of moving 2,5 tons.

The terminal’s security and vigilance system includes an internal TV circuit strategically distributed across the terminals area with 24-hour image recording, infrared movement censoring alarm system and armed as well as unarmed personnel.

For weight checking of transporting vehicles (trucks or carts) either at arrival or exit, the terminal has at its disposal a road scale with a 60-ton capacity and a railway scale capable of weighing up to 100 tons. Besides that, the terminal utilizes the identification and automatic plates registry of road-transporting vehicles system, EASY GATE.

In order to guarantee a constant energy flow to the terminal there are group diesel generators capable of maintaining for an indefinite time the supply of electric energy sufficient for the terminal’s functioning until the energy concession restores its activities (in a given eventuality).

In 2013 the Porto Seco de Juiz de Fora obtained the ISSO 9001 certification guaranteeing professionalization and standards of its activities. All our operational management systems are self developed permitting an absolute total control over the system’s functioning, besides that we also work with the SAP system that is responsible for administrative, fiscal, financial, human resources and accounting management.
